Seersucker is a summer fabric made of cotton fibers, in which tight-tensioned yarns are interwoven with loose yarns. This special manufacturing process gives the fabric a crinkled surface. Interestingly, this type of material was originally made of pure silk and cotton, so when wet, only the cotton shrank, giving the fabric a crinkled appearance .

The wavy surface combined with the lightness of cotton makes seersucker the perfect fabric for warmer days. The loose weave provides more distance between the material and the body. This allows air to flow freely , while providing greater comfort on hot days.
