Kanken Art 2024 edition is a special edition of Kanken backpacks designed by Canadian artist of Native American descent: Charlene Johnny, who is inspired by the culture and heritage of indigenous cultures in Canada. 1% of sales go to an initiative that protects the Arctic fox - which is the symbol of the Fjallraven brand.

About the author:

Charlene Johnny - Indigenous Canadian artist (belonging to a group of Indian tribes called the Maritime Salish) originating from the Quw'utsun tribe inhabiting an area on the island of Victoria (British Columbia) that is not subject to the jurisdiction of the Government of Canada. She has apprenticed with well-known artists and also has a formal art education from the Native Education College. Her main practice is graphic design and mural art. With an interdisciplinary approach to art, the artist creates in many different mediums to explore and express her ancestral artwork in many contemporary ways.

Kanken Art is the result of inviting artists to try to express their relationship with nature using the classic Kanken model as their canvas. The special edition Kanken is made of G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco. Like the classic Kanken, the Kanken Art also has a removable Seat Pad, a front pocket, comfortable shoulder straps and a handle on the top of the backpack. Kanken Art is part of the "Save the Arctic Fox" initiative, which is concerned with environmental protection. 1% of the backpack sales will go to this initiative.
